What is APR on a business loan?

APR, annual percentage rate, is the total yearly cost of a business loan expressed as one percentage, combining the interest rate plus fees like origination charges. It exists so you can compare loans honestly: a "low rate" loan with heavy fees can carry a higher APR than a plainly priced loan at a higher stated rate. Borrowers who compare interest rates instead of APRs routinely overpay without knowing it. Quordx Capital requires full fee and term disclosure on every offer it presents, so the true cost is always visible before you sign.

How APR works, and how to use it

Interest rate tells you what the lender charges on the balance; APR adds the fees and spreads everything over a year, giving the all-in figure. Example of why it matters: two $100K loans both advertise 9% interest, but one charges a 5% origination fee. Its APR is meaningfully higher, and APR is the number that reveals it. Always ask for the APR equivalent before comparing an MCA to a loan.

Compare these by APR

Business term loan: $10K-$500K+, fixed payments over 1-5 years. Best when you want a clean, comparable APR and a predictable payment.

SBA 7(a) loan: Up to $5M at roughly 10.5%-14% variable currently. Best low-APR option at scale for qualified borrowers.

Best for flexible borrowing, just compare draw fees and maintenance fees, not rate alone.
