What is an SBA Express loan?
An SBA Express loan is a streamlined version of the SBA 7(a) program: loans up to $500,000 where the SBA responds to the lender faster than the weeks a standard 7(a) review can take, though the lender sets the timeline. You get a faster SBA response and a simpler process, under the same rate caps as standard 7(a). If you need SBA-backed capital but a standard 7(a) timeline would let the opportunity pass, Express is the program built for you, and Quordx Capital can connect you with SBA-approved lenders in its 50+ lender network that run Express deals.

How SBA Express works
Express lenders use their own forms and underwriting, which is what makes the process faster: the SBA's role shrinks to a faster review on its end, while the lender sets the timeline. Maximum loan amount is $500,000, and Express can fund term loans or lines of credit. Pricing: Express uses the standard 7(a) rate caps by loan size, from Prime + 6.5% on loans of $50K and under down to Prime + 3.0% on loans over $350K; with Prime at 7.00% as of October 2026, that's 10% to 13.5% at the caps. To be clear about the tradeoff: "Express" describes the SBA's response time, not the whole deal. The lender still needs to underwrite you, so expect the full process to take longer than an online working capital loan.
Where Express fits among your options
SBA Express: Best for borrowers who want SBA pricing on up to $500K with less waiting than standard 7(a).
SBA 7(a): Best for amounts above $500K (up to $5M) or when you need SBA's full review for a larger or more complex deal.
Business term loans: $10K-$500K+ from conventional lenders, often funding in days rather than weeks. Best when the deadline won't wait for any SBA process.

How Quordx Capital Works
Quordx Capital starts with one application that takes about 10 minutes, then its AI scores your profile against 50+ vetted lenders, including SBA-approved ones, and presents 3-7 ranked matches. You upload documents once (bank statements, tax returns, ID, entity docs). Most lender decisions return inside 24-48 hours; conventional funding lands in 3-7 business days, SBA somewhat longer.
What to Expect
The honest answer on speed: Express is the fastest flavor of SBA, but it's still SBA, so measure in weeks, not days. If your timeline is tighter than that, Quordx Capital will show you a conventional product alongside it so you can weigh cost against speed with real numbers. The comparison costs nothing, no broker fees, no application fees, and there's no pressure to proceed.
