What is asset-based lending?

Asset-based lending is financing secured by things your business already owns, accounts receivable, equipment, inventory, or real estate, rather than by your credit score alone. The lender's risk is anchored to the asset, which is why asset-based deals often approve businesses that can't qualify for unsecured credit, and at better pricing. If you're sitting on unpaid invoices or paid-off equipment while struggling to cover payroll, you're effectively cash-poor and collateral-rich, and that's a solvable problem. Quordx Capital matches you with lenders across every major asset-based category, so the asset you choose to leverage is the one that costs you least.

How Asset-Based Lending Works

The lender values an asset, advances a percentage of that value, and holds a security interest until you repay. The advance rate and structure depend on the asset:

Accounts receivable: A/R financing and invoice factoring advance typically 70-90% of invoice value. Underwriting focuses on your clients' creditworthiness, if you invoice reliable businesses, your own credit matters far less.

Equipment: Equipment financing runs $5K-$5M+, with the equipment itself serving as collateral. New and used both qualify, and rates commonly fall around 7%-20% over 24-84 month terms.

Real estate: Commercial real estate financing covers $100K-$10M+, secured by the property.

Blended collateral: Some lenders extend secured lines of credit against a mix of receivables and inventory, giving you a revolving facility ($10K-$250K+) where you pay interest only on what you draw.

Because collateral does the heavy lifting, asset-based lenders tolerate shorter operating history and rougher credit than banks do, though every lender prices differently.

How Quordx Capital Works

One 5-minute application covers the entire 50+ lender network. Upload bank statements (3-6 months), your most recent tax return, and entity documents; the platform's AI then ranks 3-7 lenders by approval probability for your specific asset and deal size. Decisions typically return in 24-48 hours, with funding in 3-7 business days for most products.

What to Expect

The main worry with asset-based lending is losing the asset, and that's a fair concern, so the terms deserve scrutiny. Every fee and term in a Quordx Capital-matched offer is disclosed up front, and the service costs borrowers nothing: no broker fee, no application fee, no obligation. If an unsecured option would serve you better, you'll see that too, side by side.
