What is MCA reverse consolidation?

MCA reverse consolidation is a financing structure where a new funder deposits money into your account on a schedule, usually weekly, to cover your existing merchant cash advance payments, while you repay the new funder a smaller amount over a longer term. Unlike a true consolidation, your original advances aren't paid off; they keep drafting as scheduled, but the incoming deposits offset them, freeing up daily cash flow. It's a pressure-relief valve for stacked advances, and it has real costs you need to see clearly before signing.

How reverse consolidation works, step by step

Say you carry three advances drafting a combined $1,500 per business day, roughly $7,500 a week. A reverse consolidation funder deposits approximately that amount into your account each week so the existing drafts clear, while collecting its own repayment from you at, for example, $4,500 a week over a longer term. Net effect: your weekly cash outflow drops by about $3,000 immediately, and your original advances burn off on their normal schedule.

The tradeoffs, honestly stated: you're adding *another* obligation with its own cost on top of advances whose factor rates are already fixed and non-discountable. Total dollars repaid across everything go up: what you're buying is breathing room, not savings. Reverse consolidation makes sense when the cash flow relief lets you stabilize operations and graduate to cheaper financing; it makes things worse when it's just a way to delay an unsustainable debt load. The structure suits businesses with solid revenue that's being strangled by draft timing, not businesses whose revenue can't cover their obligations at any pace.

Alternatives to compare before committing

Working capital loans: $5K-$500K; a standard consolidation that pays advances off entirely is usually cheaper than layering a reverse structure, if you qualify.

Business term loans: $10K-$500K+, 1-5 year terms, fixed payments. Best endgame for refinancing advance debt once your file supports it.

A/R financing / invoice factoring: 70-90% advanced against B2B invoices; relief without another debt layer if receivables are your bottleneck.
