Kapitus Alternatives: 5 Best Kapitus Business Loan Competitors

Kapitus will tell you, product by product, whose money you are about to take. Very few funding companies do that. This page is about what that disclosure is worth when you compare its offer against anyone else's.

Kapitus runs two businesses at once and says so in one line: "As both a direct lender and a marketplace built with a trusted network of lending partners." Business loans and revenue-based financing "come through Kapitus and/or members of our financing network." Line of credit, invoice factoring and purchase order financing come through those members alone, and SBA offers through "SBA-approved members." Equipment financing carries two labels: the homepage credits the network, the products page credits Kapitus Equipment Finance, an affiliate named in its privacy policy.

What Kapitus publishes about funders, inquiries and phone consent

It labels the funder on nearly every product. Those lines sit under each product tile, which most hybrid funders never publish. Its KapitusPLUS page describes putting a Kapitus offer next to additional offers from other financing companies, so the comparison set comes from its own network rather than the open market. That is a normal way to run a marketplace, and it matters only if you read the comparison as the whole field.

Its terms separate its own credit inquiry from the network's, and describe how your file travels to that network. Kapitus states that its own request will not affect the owner's personal credit score, and adds that inquiries by third parties may be hard credit pulls that can affect it. Marketing frames the network as a backstop for applicants who do not meet all the criteria, though the referral is not written as conditional on a decline. The binding text authorizes Kapitus to hand your application, including information drawn from credit reports, to third-party lenders, servicers, factoring companies and brokers. Section 8 extends consent for auto-dialed and pre-recorded calls and texts to Kapitus, its affiliates, its marketing and referral partners and marketplace participants, and states that it applies even if your number appears on a Do Not Call list. Opting out takes a call or an email naming the specific numbers.

When one company is both the lender and the marketplace, the paperwork tells you which role it is playing. The name on the credit agreement, not the name on the website, is the party you will owe. On a Kapitus offer that means confirming whether the funder is Kapitus itself, an affiliate such as Kapitus Equipment Finance, or a member of its financing network, then asking who services the account. Those can be three different companies on one deal, and the servicer is who you call about a payment date. Ask for the funder's legal name, the servicer's legal name and the governing state on the contract.

Five funders to compare against a Kapitus offer

This is our page. Read it with that in mind.

Lenders pay us a commission when a deal closes, and you pay us nothing: no fee to apply, no fee to broker it, no fee to process it. That covers our side of it and not the loan itself. Whatever the lender charges to write it is still yours, and so are any closing costs. Finding out where you stand is the part that runs you nothing.

One application takes about 10 minutes. Then we read the file ourselves and name the kinds of funding your business can realistically reach. A complete package goes to three to seven lenders out of a network of more than 50, chosen because they fund businesses like yours. Those lenders advertise a decision in 24 to 48 hours, and say money follows 3 to 7 business days after that. It runs on a portal and email, so nothing depends on a phone call.

Yes, our commission is bigger at some lenders than at others. No, that has never decided which offer we put in front of an owner. If the smaller offer is the one you should sign, we say so plainly. If your file fits nothing right now, we say so and earn nothing that day. Small shop. Careful work is the only thing that keeps one alive. We do not put up the money ourselves, and we cannot approve you on our own. California, Nevada, North Dakota and South Dakota are not places we serve yet.

National Business Capital

National Business Capital is the closest structural match here, because it also lends off its own book while sourcing from outside lenders. Its FAQ publishes a time in business requirement for all solutions except equipment financing, plus an annual revenue floor.

It describes itself as a direct lender with access to a lender network, and publishes its maximum funding amount on the same pages. Approvals run on soft pulls, and it commits to telling you upfront when a hard inquiry is needed to produce an offer.

Biz2Credit

Biz2Credit names its funding sources without being asked. Its term loans are funded by Itria Ventures LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary, or by Cross River Bank, a New Jersey state chartered FDIC insured bank.

Its flagship revenue-based product is presented as not a loan, with no fixed term and no interest rate, so the cost arrives as a fixed amount owed rather than a rate you can compare against a term loan. The company states there is no fee of any kind to apply, and that fees come at closing out of your proceeds. Its terms allow one or more hard pulls of personal and business credit on any request for funding.

OnDeck

OnDeck is a direct lender operating as a brand of Enova International, and its eligibility page lists a personal credit floor, an annual revenue minimum, a time in business requirement and a business checking account.

Eligibility is assessed with a soft credit check on the owner's personal credit, and OnDeck advertises same-day funding for customers who qualify. The term loan comes with a personal guarantee and a blanket lien on business assets, which matters if you expect to finance equipment later.

Bluevine

Bluevine suits an owner who wants a revolving line. It publishes a maximum line size, repays each draw on a fixed weekly installment schedule, and lists its time in business, revenue, personal credit, bankruptcy and Secretary of State standing requirements on one page.

The business also has to be a corporation or an LLC, which rules out sole proprietors, and Bluevine does not serve Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota or U.S. territories.

How to read an offer sheet from a hybrid like Kapitus

Ask which offers on the sheet belong to the company presenting them. Its economics on its own product and on someone else's are not the same, and including its own offer is fine as long as you know which one it is. Ask in writing, at every shop.

Ask how the shop is paid on the deals it does not fund itself. Compensation differs across brokers, marketplaces and direct lenders, and a firm that takes a lender commission only on closed deals can put that in one sentence. Ask everyone for it, including us.

Count the credit inquiries, not the applications. One form authorized to travel to third parties is not necessarily one pull. Ask how many parties will pull credit, whether each pull is soft or hard, and at what stage.

Read the telephone consent while you are in there. It shapes your next two weeks more reliably than any headline turnaround time, and the opt-out mechanics are narrower than the consent.

Is Kapitus a direct lender or a marketplace? Both, by its own account, and the product tiles say which applies to each product. Equipment financing carries both labels on the pages we reviewed, so ask which entity funds your deal before you sign.

Will applying to Kapitus affect my credit score? Kapitus states its own request will not affect the owner's personal credit score, and its terms note that inquiries by the third parties it refers you to may be hard pulls. How many third parties that involves does not appear on the pages we reviewed, so ask.

Does Kapitus charge the borrower a fee? We did not find a published fee schedule on the Kapitus product pages we reviewed, so we cannot tell you one way or the other. Ask Kapitus in writing for a list of any application, packaging, broker, origination or servicing fee on the product you are offered, and get it before you sign.

Who owns Kapitus? Kapitus is Strategic Funding Source, Inc., trading as Kapitus. The company announced in July 2026 that it had been acquired by an affiliate of InterVest Capital Partners. Its own release states that "Kapitus will continue operating independently."

If Kapitus produced an offer you understand and can afford, take it.

If you would rather run the same file past a second set of lenders before you decide, send it over. One organized package goes to the lenders whose credit box your business already fits. About 10 minutes, and nothing charged to you by us either way.

Company details on this page come from that company's own published material as of August 2026, and terms in this market change without notice, so confirm current details with the company before you apply.

Send us the same file. See what your business actually reaches.

One application, about 10 minutes. Read by a person, matched to three to seven lenders out of our 50-plus network. No application fee, no broker fee, no processing fee.
